The Strict Standards notification has been resolved in version 1.4.9 of GlobeWeather Standard for J25.
Download this latest version and install on top of your current install. Your settings will be kept.
The problem should now be over. If not, please let us know.
Fix will be implemented in all other editions in the course of today.

Addendum: The problem is probably related to configuration of your XAMPP server. I have never seen it in a live internet environment. But anyway, the problem should be gone now and all GlobeWeather editions have meanwhile been adapted.

To correct this type of error in a lot of other posts they say to change the /php/php.ini file

from

error_reporting = E_ALL | E_STRICT

to

error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE

but is no resolutive for the problem itself. If I disable the globweather module the site loads without any problem.
Any other suggestion?

My initial thought was that there is some scripting conflict. I installed your template and image slider on my J17 test server and everything worked fine.

I am pretty new to Joomla. I installed GlobeWeather on my Joomla 1.7 site's homepage. However,at times, the site loads for a long time and instead of the homepage, a blank page appears. Even after refreshing the site, the issue persists. On disabling the GlobeWeather module, everything works fine. I have used the http mode to retrieve data with a time out of 5 seconds. I am using data from 4 metar stations
